The RTM 2200 features a 4 x 200 mm² ion-implanted silicon detector and uses alpha spectroscopy to measure radon and thoron separately. Its internal volume is 300 ml, and it can detect radon and thoron from 1 to 10,000,000 Bq/m³ with an accuracy of <=5%. The sensitivity is 3 / 6.5 cpm/(kBq/m³) for fast/slow modes, with response times of 12 / 120 minutes respectively.

The device includes internal sensors for relative humidity, temperature, barometric pressure, and flow rate. It has a high-quality membrane pump with processor-controlled flow rates.
