The ROSEN ATEX EPD is designed to facilitate pipeline monitoring by detecting the passage of inspection tools (pigs) and working with transmitters and markers.

• ATEX Certification : The equipment is certified according to the ATEX Directive 2014/34/EU (formerly ATEX 95/114), confirming it is safe for operation in potentially explosive atmospheres.
• Protection Type : It utilizes intrinsic safety (Ex ib) as its primary method of protection, which limits the electrical energy in the circuit to a level insufficient to cause ignition.
• Hazard Zones : It is certified for use in :
  • Zone 1: Areas where an explosive gas atmosphere is likely to occur in normal operation.
  • Zone 2: Areas where an explosive gas atmosphere is not likely to occur in normal operation, and if it does, will only persist for a short time.
• ATEX Marking: The specific marking on the equipment type plate (e.g., ATEX EPD 3) includes the ib protection mode. This is part of the broader ATEX compliance of ROSEN’s In-Line Inspection (ILI) fleet, which has a general marking of II 2G Ex pxb h IIB T4 Gb for the overall tool, allowing operation in gas groups IIB and temperature class T4.
